Find local information, support, and resources!
TRU Career and Experiential Learning is committed to supporting more equitable access to career and experiential learning opportunities.
From a holistic perspective, we recognize that there are many factors that can create barriers for our diverse student population. To support student wellness, we have developed a resource map for students transitioning from an academic setting to a career/experiential learning environment.
If you are a faculty member or community employer supporting a TRU student in achieving their employment goals or a TRU student who may be experiencing barriers to employment, this resource is for you.

What is a deep map?
A deep map is an interactive map that provides a one stop shop for information about community resources and services available in Kamloops and surrounding areas.
Why should I sign up?
We want to let people know where to find you, how to the can reach you and what you can do to help. Because we value your contribution to our community, we also welcome your success stories. Your featured story will link directly to your location on the deep map.
Who is the deep map for?
TRU CEL would like to provide students, faculty and local employers with comprehensive resources that will help different groups of students transition from post-secondary to a career/ experiential learning environment. The deep map is also available to anyone who would like more information about local community resources.
Why partner with TRU?
We understand that many factors in a person’s life can impact health and well-being in the workplace (i.e. illness, injury, disability, legal issues, family stressors, etc.). TRU is committed to fostering relationships with local service providers that support our students during circumstances that may interfere with meeting their career/experiential learning goals.
How does it work?
A link to the map will be located on the TRU Career and Experiential Learning website under the heading Experience More Access. Simply click on the link to access the map and select the resource you would like to know more about.
What makes this different from other resource lists?
The deep map is an interactive way to find relevant resources without the added pressure of having to disclose personal information to an outside party (i.e colleague, classmate or supervisor). The Experience More Access web page will provide additional on-line resources to compliment the information you have contributed to the deep map.
How can I add my organization to the map?
